Description

Finding Your Vision: Beginning (or Continuing) Your Homeschool Journey With The End In Mind was born out of a desire to impart to other homeschooling moms what I had learned about finding a vision for my homeschool. Early in my days of home educating, I worked through forming my philosophy of education. Over the next 14 years, God slowly refined that philosophy and showed me that it was actually His vision for our homeschool.

Finding Your Vision will walk you through that process. More workshop than book, the conversational tone and worksheets in this book will guide you gently through the process of discerning God's vision for your homeschool. With this vision, you can begin to choose curriculum and activities for your child's education with confidence.

Excerpt from Finding Your Vision:

We need a vision. Without a vision or a revelation, we cannot live abundantly. Without God’s revelation, we will be lost. Without vision, we could end up trying one style of homeschooling after another, only to feel frustrated and like we have failed. Without vision, we could jump from one curriculum to another, never feeling satisfied or productive—not to mention having much less money in the bank. But we need not feel like a failure. We need not frustrate our children and make them feel like a failure, either.

We need a vision of the path laid out before us. That sounds very lofty, but it really just means that we must know where we are going in order to get there. Without knowing where we are going before we set out, we will be lost in a forest of opinions and curriculum with no compass.

Finding Your Vision is one of the most powerful homeschooling resources I have ever read. It is a quick read but jam packed with thought provoking information that will enable you to clarify your vision and refine your homeschooling plans. I recommend it to every new homeschooler I meet as well as any family facing middle or high school for the 1st time. The work sheets are straight forward and without fluff just like the book.

With the completion of each one, you will feel a sense of purpose, direction, and relief because you have a firm grip on future goals. I have waded through resources on learning styles, teaching styles, etc but never came away feeling the sense of purpose I felt after reading Finding Your Vision.
