Kindness

Smile often, and let kindness be a cloak you wear as an example to your children.

A few days ago this was the “Motivation for Moms.” (see my sidebar) This was such a good reminder for me and such a beautiful picture. A cloak of kindness…

I have been very busy with Christmas crafting the last 2 weeks. We have taken a break from schooling to focus on celebrating Christmas and practice giving to others. Most of the children are also crafting~ knitting, plastic canvas, ornament making, baking. In fact, my 15 year old son wanted to learn to knit in order to make gifts for family members. Isn’t that sweet?

I think I have been the busiest of them all. I think I have more things that I want to make than I actually have time to make. I have let children feed themselves and their baby sister so that I can keep knitting. I must get it all done, right?

“Smile often, and let kindness be a cloak you wear as an example to your children.”

In the midst of my bustle, am I wearing kindness as a cloak? Am I being a good example to my children? Am I smiling at and loving them?

Mind you, I don’t think I am being a grump to anyone, but am I remembering not to ignore my sweet children at the most special time of year? I need to be mindful to not let my giving to others interfere with my giving to my own sweet children.

“Smile often, and let kindness be a cloak you wear as an example to your children.”

Amen!
